What’s with the neon blue space-ship?

Posted February 13th, 2008 by Rachel

If you’ve hovered over the blog header when you’re not on on the front page…*waits a moment for you to try it now if you haven’t already*…then you may have noticed there’s a gorgeous little neon blue flying saucer that says “go home” at the side of it. The “go home” bit means if you click the header it’ll take you back to the main front page of the blog, if you didn’t already know that. I could have just put a rather boring “click here to go back to the home page” message there, but that was, I thought, just a tad too boring. Why a space ship?

neon blue flying saucer

Well, a friend of mine reckons he’s got a neon blue space-ship that he zooms around the universe in on hunting missions to find and retrieve neon blue things - he’s a bit of a neon blue nut too - and he reckons he’s got a sparkly neon blue space-suit as well. No-one’s ever actually seen this neon blue space ship of his, but I did at one point have a theory that him and his mate were hiding out on the third floor of the building at work, which was why I heard vague tales of people going up there, but never being seen again. I used to see traffic wardens skulking about warily outside (I mean, you’d have to park your space ship somewhere!), but he reckoned the space ship had a special cloaking device and anti-traffic-warden defences built in, a.k.a. a huge hand that sprung out of the top of it and bitch-slapped them into the next universe.

Ah, it’s a strange world I live in! :)

You’re not kidding me. It’s worse than I thought. :-/
